Jessica Waldron Shover
Burke, VT
Master of ArtsEducation, Applied Behavior Analysis
At a time like this it is hard to know what to say. Earning my master's degree has been a long-time goal for me and this was not the fairy tale ending I had imagined, but WE did it! I am grateful to my husband and daughter who have supported and encouraged me these last two years even when it meant missed dance practices, dinners, and bedtimes. I want to thank my advisor for her enthusiasm and guidance and can only hope future NVU students will have the privilege of studying with her. I want to provide witty encouragement for future students, but I do not know that there will be a future for students at NVU. A time which should be a celebration of hard work and new opportunities is clouded by uncertainty on so many levels. I am thankful for the opportunity to have continued my education at NVU and hope it will continue to be an option in our communities. I want to share a quote that has stuck with me through the years and has always helped to ground me . . .
"Yesterday is gone, tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today, let us begin." -Mother Teresa
